Feisty Fit Females, a free exercise group for women cancer survivors, meets the final Thursday of most months from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. We're dedicated to helping women with cancer be more physically fit and well. Each session is not always an actual work-out; rather, speakers present diversified topics that pertain to wellness and health. Previous speakers have included medical oncologists Dev Paul, MD and Sami Diab, MD. Others include Susan Williams, who took the bronze in the 2004 Olympics in Triathlon, and Sally Edwards, national spokesperson for the Danskin Triathlon.
We don't focus on the disease process but rather try to celebrate the fact that we are alive and doing as well as possible.
We're already scheduling events for 2014. If there are topics you would like covered or people whom you would recommend as presenters, please contact me! I welcome your input!! Send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
DIRECTIONS TO CONNIE'S HOUSE: If you are coming from central Denver, go south on Broadway for a long time. Go past Hampden and Bellview and Littleton Blvd. until you come to Caley. You can only turn west or right. Go for 13 blocks until you come to Gallop. Keep going and you'll see a 25 MPH speed sign. Turn right and take a long, cement driveway back to my house. There is a huge gray home on Caley.....that’s not ours.....we’re on a lot past their home.... so be sure to follow the long driveway.
If you are coming from the south, you might want to take C-470 to Broadway and then follow the above directions. If you are coming from Aurora, take 225 to I-25 to Bellview west, to Broadway south ... and continue with the above directions. If you are coming from I-25, take Santa Fe south, past Bellview to Church (Arapahoe Community College is on the left.) Go left until you come to a T stop, turn right on Prince. Go to the top of the hill and turn left on Caley. Take Caley past Datura, look for the green mailbox. Then, follow the above directions regarding the long driveway.
I look forward to seeing you! Connie
